OWASS BEAT JAPASS,KOSS AND OTHERS TO CLINCH VICTORY IN ZONE ONE

Opoku ware School produced a last minute electrifying performance to overcome competition from jachie pramso senior high school to place first in zone one of the ongoing Ashanti regional inter schools and colleges atletics competition.

Opoku ware amassed a total of 158 points while Mighty Japass had 145 points with Bonwire picking the third spot with 80 points in the boys category.

In the girls category, Japass amassed 166 points to clinch the first spot with Konongo odumase and st. Louis following suit with a total of 155 and 135 points respectively.

Below are the best six schools that have made it to the super zonals on 23rd and 24th of this month.

OWASS, JAPASS TO STORM INTERCO TOMORROW

The Ashanti regional inter schools and colleges atletics competition will continue tomorrow at the baba yara Stadium with schools from zone 1 for a chance to pick one of the six qualifying spots for the super zonals.

A place for the first position will be fiercely contested by Opoku ware School, jachie pramso senior high school and Kumasi senior high technical school whiles in the women category it is a straight fight between st. Louis and jachie pramso.

PREMPEH, KUMASI GIRLS OTHERS THROUGH TO THE SUPER ZONALS

The Ashanti regional inter schools and colleges atletics competition dubbed INTERCO continued on Monday and Tuesday at the baba yara Stadium with schools from zone five taking their turn .

Prempeh College and Kumasi Girls won the zone in the boys and girls division respectively with Kumasi Anglican senior high school and Armed Forces senior high technical
school making it to the super zonals in both male and female categories.

Ghana's fastest human in U18 male Samuel Asare Kwabi led his school to victory in the 100m, 200m, 4*100m and 4*200m.

Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High school emerged as the best behaved school whiles Juaben SHS and Asanteman SHS in 2nd &3rd  respectively.

Tweneboah Koduah SHS narrowly missed the missed the Super zonals after placing 7th in both the male and female categories.
